This major train station in London has 3 very steep slopes that link the platforms together and following the installation of anti slip coating by another company that had subsequently worn out, were experiencing up to 22 slip accidents per day!

We initially had to carry out trials to see if the coating could be removed but it turned out that this would entail major works, so we turned our attention to over coating the surface.

We worked closely with our manufacturers and came up with a suitable fast curing solution.

The station closed the ramps for the weekend and we carried out the installation of a 4 coat, anti slip resin system with a diamond hard aggregate added for maximum slip resistance.

The ramps were back open to the public again by the Sunday afternoon and since installation there have been a massive reduction in reported slip accidents.

The Pendulum readings are now in excess of 55 PTV in the wet as due to the steepness of the ramps a higher slip resistance value was required.
